Aldata to supply G.O.L.D. to Musgrave

Aldata has signed a contract with the Musgrave Group for the supply and implementation of the Aldata G.O.L.D. supply chain management software. The project will begin immediately and will result in the implementation of G.O.L.D. Central for trading functions within the Group and G.O.L.D. Shop for store back-office functions.

Musgrave's decision to adopt the G.O.L.D. software is part of an overall Group strategy to upgrade and develop the existing IT infrastructure, in order to support future business growth.

With group sales of 3.8 billion euro in 2004, the Musgrave Group, a private Irish company, is one of Ireland's largest food and grocery distributors. The company operates an island-wide distribution and support network for independent supermarket owners and franchises the SuperValu and Centra retail outlets. The Group also manages the country's leading cash & carry operation as well as an extensive foodservices business. In the UK, the Musgrave Group operates the Budgens and Londis supermarket and convenience store chains. It also has wholesale and retail distribution operations in Spain with its Dialsur subsidiary. The Musgrave Group employs ca. 40,000 direct and indirect staff, ca. 24,000 of that figure in the Republic of Ireland.
