Caterpillar Logistics Services and ChevronTexaco Technology Ventures agree to sale of RelayStar N.V.

Caterpillar Logistics Services, Inc. (Cat Logistics), a wholly owned subsidiary of Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE: CAT), and ChevronTexaco Technology Ventures LLC, (CTTV) a wholly owned subsidiary of ChevronTexaco Corp., are pleased to announce that they have reached an agreement for Cat Logistics to acquire the logistics business RelayStar N.V., an affiliate of CTTV.

RelayStar offers a unique service parts logistics solution that delivers a high quality and cost-cutting last-mile relay using a mix of next day and same day services through an extensive network of pick-up and drop off (PUDO) points and Field Stock Locations (FSLs). RelayStar has been operational since 2000 and is currently active in the UK, France, Italy and the Benelux. Expansion into other European countries is underway.

The RelayStar business complements Cat Logistics existing expertise in service parts logistics. This covers the rest of the service parts supply chain and includes the management of inventory, transportation and warehouse facilities for more than 50 clients world-wide.
