SEEBURGER LAUNCHES Paper-to-ERP INTEGRATION FOR 70% OF BUSINESS TO BUSINESS TRANSACTIONS

SEEBURGER UK Ltd, a global solution provider for cross-enterprise business process integration, has announced the UK launch of Paper-to-ERP, a tool that automates the processing of paper-based orders, invoices and other documents through OCR, artificial intelligence and advanced data validation/exception handling. Paper-to-ERP integrates seamlessly with all major ERP systems, including SAP, JD Edwards, PeopleSoft and Baan.

A recent survey carried out by SEEBURGER on European businesses determined that 70% of business to business (B2B) transactions are still carried out on paper, most often fax and post. Companies can adopt SEEBURGERs Paper-to-ERP solution on a standalone basis to reduce the time, error risk, headcount and costs associated with manual data entry; eliminate manual matching and validation of invoices to orders; and enable paper-based invoices and orders to be fed directly into the companys ERP system.

Rakesh Harji, Managing Director of SEEBURGER UK Ltd, comments, Paper-to-ERP is part of SEEBURGERs unique Business Integration Server (BIS) suite, the industrys only single platform solution that can handle any companys transactions with every one of its trading partners. We already have customers in Europe that have demonstrated annual savings of millions of pounds and have realised a return on investment in less than three weeks. We are delighted to now offer this solution to the UK market.

SEEBURGERs offerings revolve around the Business Integration Suite, the most comprehensive and cost-effective EAI & B2B integration suite in the industry. BIS is the only solution in its class to integrate 100% of an organisations trading partners, including smaller customers and suppliers that still do business on paper, on a single platform. BIS has been developed in-house by SEEBURGER to ensure compatibility, provide a common work environment, and simplify maintenance across the extended supply chain.

This ability to automate all trading relationships dramatically reduces handling costs and accelerates transaction processing to permit better inventory management, faster lead times and shorter time to market. BIS deployment is typically two to three times faster than other solutions because of the availability of thousands of reusable industry-specific processes and templates, an extensive library of adapters, and a rapid implementation process. This reduces integration costs and yields a faster return on investment.

Avery Zweckform (part of the Avery Dennison Group) has adopted the Paper-to-SAP version of Paper-to-ERP to allow its incoming paper documents, such as purchase orders, to be automatically recognised and integrated into its SAP ERP system. BIS:Paper-to-ERP has definitely relieved pressure on the department, said Markus Kutzner, Head of In-House Sales at Avery Zweckform, commenting on the outcome of the implementation project. Our customers can be sure they will receive a high service level even during peak periods. The error rates in processing faxed orders have also been drastically reduced.

Dunlop, the world-leading tire manufacturer, has implemented SEEBURGERs Paper-to-ERP solution to process incoming faxes and integrate them with its SAP R/3 ERP system. Jrgen Sievers, Communications Technologies Coordinator at Dunlop, comments, Capturing an order consisting of one or two items previously took around three minutes. 80% of faxes are completely recognised by Paper-to-ERP, and these take only 25 seconds to process." This has helped Dunlop to achieve a full return-on-investment in less than a year.
