Infor Global Solutions today announced the launch of a new product designed specifically to meet the distinct needs of the automotive supplier community, Infor TRANS4M 8.20. This is a comprehensive solution for manufacturing performance optimization that enables lean manufacturing in highly-repetitive environments. The new release incorporates serialized container and lot management, customer-requested enhancements, new trading partners, and also full integration of Infor SupplyWEB 7.5, a Web-based supply chain management and execution solution.

Infor TRANS4M is part of the Infor Automotive Essentials product suite developed specifically to benefit manufacturers in the automotive industry. Today, 17 of the top 25 automotive suppliers worldwide use Infor Automotive Essentials.

We develop our products in response to customer requirements and market directions, which is consistent with our overall product strategy, said Robin Pederson, Senior Vice President of the Infor Discrete Group. This release of TRANS4M demonstrates our commitment to our customers and the automotive industry.

TRANS4M features a new tool for serialized container and lot management, which incorporates scanning and FIFO-based consumption to enable tracking and control of serial numbers and lots from supplier to customer. TRANS4M 8.20 also adds enhancements for Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, as well as more than 40 customer-driven requests and 20 new trading partners.

Another key feature of Infor TRANS4M 8.20 is the inclusion of SupplyWEB 7.5. SupplyWEB enables suppliers to collaborate and share value-added information, use exception based alerting for unanticipated events, and track key metrics and performance. Users benefit from inventory and premium shipment cost reductions, as well as reduced stock-outs, quality defects and EDI costs, while gaining business process enhancements with their supply base.
