kerstrms is launching Trux 600a new generation of wireless computers that endure challenging environments. This product line tolerates violent shock and vibrations, extreme cold in freezer rooms and severe heat in ironworks. The Trux 600 is based on a new modular-design architecture that facilitates adding new functions and thus secures customers investments, today and tomorrow.

kerstrms Trux 600 line is developed to streamline warehouse and production-plant operations. The computers are mounted on forklift trucks, giving drivers direct access to the companys warehouse management system. The Trux 600 line comes in many configurations, depending on each customers requirements, and offers two models: the Trux 600 Wireless Application Platform and the Trux 600 Wireless Client Terminal. The former is a powerful computer that supports simultaneous operation of many heavy applications. The latter is a thin client for operating various client-server applications. Both are based on a new modular design that facilitates customisation. Customer investments are therefore secured because they can add functions that fulfill future requirements.

We want to offer robust, flexible solutions that are aligned with our customers growth strategies, says Per Stein, development manager at kerstrms. Before we launch a new product, we rigorously test it in certified labs and in tough industrial environments. These reality tests assure quality. Our products are used in production facilities that put huge demands on availability, so these computers must work constantly. The new modular design means that we can quickly and easily add new functions that are based on the latest technologies.

The Trux 600 line comes in many configurations. Based on where the computers are used (indoors or outdoors), customers select operating systems, processors, and screen functions with various resolutions and light intensities. The computers are designed to tolerate prolonged tough treatment in industrial environments with dust, shock, vibrations, humidity, heat, and cold. The rugged magnesium cases and the enclosed components are classified for industrial use. These lightyet robustcomputers weigh just 3.7 kilos (8 pounds), which makes them easy to mount, e.g. on forklifts. Peripherals can be connected using technologies such as Bluetooth, USB, serial ports, PC cards, and Ethernet.

During the past 10 years, kerstrms has been a Nordic market leader when it comes to rugged computers. In recent years, the company has started to expand internationally and is currently enjoying successes in Europe and the Americas. The new Trux 600 is a key part of the companys continued global growth.

We have extensive experience in wireless solutions for challenging industrial environments, says Marianne Arosenius, CEO for kerstrms. We work closely with customers as we develop our solutions. And now weve taken a giant leap forward on the technology front, so that were prepared for the future. With the new Trux 600 models, our international expansion will really pick up speed.
