EXEL EXTENDS INBOUND SERVICES FOR VOLKSWAGEN GROUP ACROSS CENTRAL AND EASTERN EUROPE

Exel, the global leader in supply chain management, has renewed and extended its inbound services operations for Volkswagen Group (VW) in the Czech Republic. Building on an 11-year relationship, Exel will manage the inbound collection for VW's assembly plant in Poland, and a new domestic inbound parts collection service for Skoda in the Czech Republic.

Exel currently manages transportation of components from approximately 300 suppliers across the Czech Republic and Slovakia to support Volkswagen and Audi production in Belgium, Germany, Hungary and Slovakia. Under the increased contract scope, the Company will also be responsible for the collection of components feeding into VW's assembly plant in Poland.

For the new domestic inbound parts collection service for Skoda in the Czech Republic, Exel will transport components from all local suppliers to Skoda's three assembly plants in the Czech Republic, where the popular Skoda Fabia and Octavia models are produced. Components will be cross-docked at Exel's 7,500 sq m warehousing facility, near Skoda's Mlada Boleslav assembly plant.

Exel has been working with Volkswagen Group since 1993, providing innovative solutions to further enhance the company's inbound and aftermarket supply chain.
