Free of charge to all in the UK transport arena
Information is fundamental to effective transport planning and routing. A combination of geographic data, real-time traffic information, historical data and other third-party datasets can give a better view of operations - they can provide geographic intelligence. This seminar, organised by the Geographic Intelligence for Transport (GIfT) forum, provides the first ever insight into the power of geographic intelligence for the travel and transport industry. The objective of the event is to share the solutions available with those who need to know what they are.
The event, free to all in the transport industry, will be held on Tuesday 30 November at the Ordnance Survey Business Centre in Southampton.
Stephen Glaister, Professor of Transport and Infrastructure at Imperial College London, will deliver the keynote speech, looking at the issues facing the transport industry in 2005. Other speakers will review the solutions available to address these challenges. There will also be the opportunity to talk to suppliers who offer solutions to many of today's traffic and transport problems as well as attending an open forum facilitated by Robin McLaren, a leading consultant in the field.
