The optimisation of G.O.L.D. for Itanium processor platforms now delivers enterprises with a single industry-leading hardware and software platform that offers the power and reliability required to process mission-critical customer, inventory and business information. Additionally, the Intel and Aldata-based solution provides the processing performance and scalability required to support the retail industrys adoption of new revolutionary technologies like radio frequency identification (RFID).

We are dedicated to providing organisations in the retail sector with easy to implement, flexible and functionally rich software solutions, said Ren Homeyer, Deputy CEO of Aldata Solution. By optimising G.O.L.D. software for Intel Itanium 2 processor-based platforms, we are helping our customers to boost productivity by delivering a leading-edge platform for the most demanding of tasks available on open-standards-based technology for the first time.

With growing adoption of new technologies such as RFID, organisations in the retail sector require flexible platforms to handle increasing amounts of data processing, and we are delighted that Aldata has optimised its leading G.O.L.D. SCM software for compute intense workloads, said Tom Garrison, Head of Enterprise Marketing, Intel EMEA. G.O.L.D. running on Itanium 2-based systems transforms data into mission-critical information and improves supply chain efficiency throughout the entire organisation. As Intel Itanium 2-based platforms provide enhanced headroom for growth, enterprise customers can scale IT systems to complement their expanding business needs.
