Lean manufacturing, business intelligence and workflow products are the focus for Lilly Software at the CIM Show

Fully integrated across the range of Lilly Software's products, a new module to streamline workflow, a business intelligence module and a system to support lean manufacturing operations, complemented by suites for manufacturing, warehouse and supply chain management, are products being highlighted on the company's stand at the CIM Show. The products are all aimed at small to medium-size enterprise (SME) manufacturers.

The company's new VISUAL Workflow module is designed to help manufacturers improve the productivity of people within the enterprise and make supply chain processes more efficient. It lets management continually check and improve the way tasks are carried out.

VISUAL Business Intelligence (VBI) may be used with Lilly Software's VISUAL Enterprise ERP solution and helps management better interpret and analyse business data. Powered by Vanguard Solutions Group's business intelligence technology known as Graphical Performance Series (GPS), VBI delivers clear business performance metrics that provide an insight into what is happening with revenue or operating costs and, more importantly, reveals the reasons why. It lets managers make more profitable business decisions by planning and validating their company's strategic and tactical initiatives.

Specifically designed to support lean manufacturing, Lilly Software's VISUAL Easy Lean system is claimed to offer rapid implementation and delivery of significant results within 30-90 days. The software reduces inventory, shortens lead times and speeds the delivery of orders. It works in conjunction with the company's existing VISUAL Enterprise ERP system and in a lean environment will better connect production planning and execution processes.

The new module incorporates pull-oriented scheduling plus techniques derived from the theory of constraints (ToC). Clive Mattson, Managing Director of Lilly Software's European headquarters, said: "The driving forces in business today are to stay ahead of global competition, cut out waste and continually find ways to add value to products and services. Automation offers an effective way to cope with these pressures. Software to support lean manufacturing, improve business process management, monitor the business in realtime and make necessary changes, are now becoming essential tools. At CIM 2004, Lilly Software aims to show manufacturers that we have effective and affordable tools to help them."

Lilly Software Associates will also be presenting a series of seminars in the seminar event being staged at the CIM Show by the ERP Vendors Forum, a group of leading software vendors that address the needs of the manufacturing industry in the UK. The company is a founding member of the forum initiative.

Every Lilly Software product, whether designed by the company, or bought in from business partners, seamlessly integrate with each other. This ensures that implementation, operation, maintenance, the later addition of modules or expansion of the system can take place rapidly and without risk of incompatibility. Data flow and communication is direct, so tasks and decision- making are made easier and quicker to achieve. A central database ensures that users of the system share one source of data. This feature eliminates unnecessary duplication of data, the risk of separate databases being built up by individuals, and associated errors.

A well-proven methodology to ensure rapid implementation, coupled with an easy to use graphical interface - one of the best in the industry - lets users, whether familiar with computers or not, begin using Lilly Software products with the minimum of training. The early results gained means the company's products deliver rapid return on investment (RoI).
