Intermec Technologies has launched the rugged and affordably priced EasyCoder PD4 printer, designed for hard-working applications in manufacturing, distribution, warehouse, transportation, and public services. The new printer will be marketed exclusively through the company's Value Added Distributors and channel partners.
The EasyCoder PD4 maximises bar code label printing efficiency while offering standard printer features and performance inside a rugged metal casing. Its tough steel construction ensures reliable operation and its modular design makes it easy to change printheads and media. Regular maintenance can be kept to a minimum by using 450 metre long ribbons.
The PD4 features all the basic bar code label printer functions plus an LCD graphic display option, three standard interface options, a choice of 200 or 300 dpi print resolution and extensive font support. It is easy to set up and configure, offers a full range of serial, parallel and USB connectivity options as standard and issues automatic alerts for "out of media" or "printhead lifted".
With a print width of 104 mm and print speed of 150 mm per second, the PD4 printer is ideal for a wide range of demanding applications including printing product labels and labels for work-in-process, asset tracking, shipping and receiving, cross docking, compliance, put-away and inventory management.
The PD4 printer comes as standard with 2MB Flash and 2MB DRAM enabling it to comfortably handle large data volumes required for some fonts and graphics. For even greater versatility, further options and accessories include extended flash memory, a cutter, self-strip option, internal rewind, keyboard display unit and EasyLAN Ethernet.
