Eliminating the need for cables, the Wireless Print Server provides users with the flexibility to reconfigure their network of printers with the minimum of interruption or downtime, simplifying printer management and maintenance.
Commenting on the new launch, Christine Watts, Product Marketing Team Manager, of Zebra, said: "As the world becomes switched on to the benefits of going wireless we've seen huge advances in mobile technology in both the consumer and business markets. This wireless revolution means greater convenience for any organisation that's part of the supply chain as labelling becomes truly mobile."
Key features of the ZebraNet Wireless Print Server include:
Enhanced wireless connectivity for Zebra's mid-range Z4Mplus/Z6Mplus printers, as --well as the high performance XiIIIPlus family and 105SL printers
802.11b wireless communications protocol
802.1X-LEAP authentication and encrypton technology for reliable network and data security.
The launch of the ZebraNet Wireless Print Server is part of Zebra's broader commitment to continually enhancing the range of connectivity options it offers to its resellers and customers. Watts comments: "Zebra already offers a wide variety of mobile printing solutions, ranging from hand-held models through to transportable industrial strength print systems. As the role of printers in the corporate network becomes more mission critical, our business is no longer just about the printers themselves. Developing our portfolio of connectivity solutions allows us to deliver greater value to customers by enhancing flexibility and increasing efficiency."
As such, Zebra is also announcing the launch of the ZebraNet 10/100 Print Server, a complete wired solution for 10Base-T, 100Base-TX and fast Ethernet 10/100 auto-switching networks, designed to reduce traffic and speed data transmission.
All of Zebra's connectivity solutions enable ZebraLink on Zebra's ZPL bar code printers. In addition to providing ease of installation and configuration, ZebraLink features remote printer control, status monitoring and trouble-shooting from virtually anywhere. Users also can easily download firmware upgrades that help ensure Zebra printing solutions grow with the customer.
