Infor Global Solutions, a world-leading provider of vertical business solutions for the manufacturing industry, has launched a new release of its mid-market ERP system Infor COM.
The new 6.3 release of Infor COM includes an enhanced warehouse management system (WMS) and additional e-procurement functions, as well as a new user interface and many detailed improvements in operation. The primary focus of the release is to refine usability and to reduce implementation timescales, thereby achieving faster investment returns. The core architecture of the system has been re-shaped around a modular business services bus and provides a thoroughly modern J2EE platform for future developments.
With the new warehouse functionality, stock items can be characterised by a number of variables including size, weight and expiry date, and stored selectively in multiple locations throughout the warehouse - or elsewhere in the wider enterprise. The WMS supports a number of warehouse structures from manual to chaotic. Sub-contractor stock issues, consignment stock and re-usable packaging are tracked by the system. Infor COM 6.3 also provides a number of detailed improvements for project and one-off manufacturers, particularly in after-sales service and support.
