The US Department of Defence (DoD) mandate that suppliers must comply with their RFID requirements by January 2005 is causing considerable anxiety within the aerospace and defence supply base. However, with costs dropping, global standards moving into place and equipment improving in reliability and performance, significant benefits are available from deploying the technology right now and suppliers need to mobilise their plans quickly.
