EXEL SIGNS THREE-YEAR DEAL WITH LIFE FITNESS (UK) LIMITED

Exel, the global leader in supply chain management, has announced a new three-year contract with the UKs leading health and fitness equipment provider, Life Fitness (UK) Limited, part of the worldwide Brunswick Group.

Exel will manage the receipt, storage, customer delivery and installation of Life Fitness products, including cardiovascular and strength equipment from its 35,000 sq ft site at Rugby, Warwickshire. Exels Technology sector will use its national technical distribution network to deliver over 20,000 items a year to customers from the end of September 2004.

The irregular sizes, heavy but delicate components, and complex configurations of the equipment require the specialist warehousing and transportation skills which are the core competency of Exels Technology sector.

Exels experience in the delivery, installation and de-installation of heavy fragile and sensitive equipment, and its ability to provide a national distribution service were key to Life Fitness decision to award this contract.

In addition, the improved management reporting and visibility of product throughout the supply chain provide significant customer service benefits to Life Fitness (UK) Limited.
