Thousands of manufacturers have deployed SAP as their strategic enterprise platform to integrate business systems and reduce expenses. However, with a new competitive landscape demanding consumers, lagging economy, global competition, and increasingly stringent regulations more is needed. To be successful, the entire enterprise must be focused on eliminating inventories, mistakes, rework, and every unnecessary step in the manufacturing and supply process. Producing lots of one that are tailored specifically for each user, and instituting quality best practices, such as lean and six sigma, are also essential to survive and thrive.
To sufficiently lean out manufacturing and supply processes and achieve these strategic initiatives, industrial organizations must have end-to-end, global coordination and control of all production events happening on the plant floor and then be able to deliver the information, in real-time, up through the entire organization and out through to the supply partners.
