FEIG ELECTRONIC GmbH, manufacturer of the highly successful OBID i-scan HF product family, has announced the release of firmware for their product line that enables support of EPC transponders that correspond to the AutoID Center specifications.
The new firmware version is available for the entire OBID i-scan HF reader family that includes vicinity, proximity, mid-range and long range products . The update is available upon request to FEIG ELECTRONIC.
The HF EPC (13.56 MHz) Electronic Product Code is a standard that is used to unambiguously mark products for identification. The EPC Code consists of a 96-bit number, corresponding to the Universal Product Code (UPC) and a manufacturer assigned serial number. The EPC is stored in a Smart Label, that is placed on the respective product.
