Under the terms of the agreement, AquiTecs SCM/400tm and SCM/etm product suites will be integrated with the Vocollect Talkman terminal - a user-wearable, wireless, web-based speech interface that streamlines fulfilment and distribution operations. The integrated solution will use audio instructions to direct activities of warehouse and distribution centre workers, and allow these workers to use spoken responses to provide data directly back to AquiTecs products. It will work alongside AquiTecs Radio Frequency functionality to support real-time inventory.
This partnership with VoCognition allows us to offer customers the best in voice-recognition technology and implementation and is an important component of our strategy to add value to our core warehouse management proposition, said Karen Kelly, business development director for AquiTec. Our customers know that improving their current high picking accuracy by even the smallest margin will yield huge savings, and in todays market we are committed to offering the very latest in functionality and technology to enable clients to gain real competitive advantage.
AquiTec has an existing direct agreement with Vocollect in the US enabling the company to distribute Talkman technology to its customers throughout America. Vocollect distributes its solutions through a VAR network in Europe of which VoCognition is a listed partner.
This is an important relationship for VoCognition as it enables us to build on our strong customer base in the European market and extend our reach into the UK, said Rodolphe Becker, director at VoCognition. With our combined offering AquiTecs customers will be able to leverage the strength of their existing warehouse management systems and be able to take advantage of the productivity, accuracy and health and safety benefits that can be obtained through the use of the Talkman voice-based systems.
