B&R Moll, Inc., the supplier of folder/gluers and specialised bindery finishing equipment for printing and packaging facilities, has developed the digi-mollPAK System– a compact in-line folder/gluer designed specifically to provide digital and commercial printers with fast, flexible performance for complex packaging projects, including cartons, pillow packs, room key sleeves and presentation folders.

The digi-mollPAK System in-line folder/gluer is a compact system that incorporates many proven folding and feeding mechanisms developed by B&R Moll, including an open format system that facilitates quick change-over between jobs and a dual-stream capacity to enable multiple feeds. Positive feed control is provided by a bottom friction feeder that offers both continuous feed for regular stock as well as irregularly-shaped materials. A tipper plate with an air blast attachment, movable belts and pans, as well as anti-marking formers maintain the system's workflow, and the system's liftgate can be adjusted to allow for a quick job set up.

"We developed the digi-mollPAK System specifically for digital printers who needed a fast, flexible in-line folder/gluer that could deliver complex packaging jobs at an affordable price," said Darren Vernon, director of Moll International. "The compact digi-mollPAK System offers many of the same features found in our proven full-size Vantage folder/gluers."

Accessories designed to increase the digi-mollPAK System's efficiency for specific jobs include an inserting attachment, tape head/silicone head, vacuum belt system and a trombone feed assembly.

The compact B&R Moll digi-mollPAK System has a linear footprint of less than 5 meters, and handles material ranging from 140-500g/m2 stocks (70lb. cover to 28pt.) in sizes ranging from 50 x 102mm (2 x 4 inches) up to 914mm x 508mm (36 x 20 inches). Maximum linear speed is 130m/min (425ft/min). The system is available with either 400V 3-phase, 60A/50Hz or 220V 3-phase, 60A/60Hz power connections and a 0.7mPa (90psi) compressed air connection.

B&R Moll will showcase the digi-mollPAK System, and other folder/gluers in Hall 06, Stand A39 at drupa 2016, held at the Düsseldorf Fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany from 31 May – 10 June, 2016.
