Vanderlande wins ‘Supplier of the Year’ award

Vanderlande has been chosen as the Supplier of the Year at this year's Postal Technology International Awards. The ceremony, which recognises outstanding achievements in the postal industry, was held during Post Expo 2015 in Paris on 29 September.

This is the second time Vanderlande has won the Supplier of the Year category, after the company's success in Stuttgart, Germany, in 2011. The prestigious award recognises the company's close cooperation with customers in a tough market, the ongoing benefits of its life-cycle services proposition and its multilingual spare parts portal, which were all highlighted in the company's nomination.

Vanderlande's spare parts portal was developed in partnership with more than 15 of its customers during the pilot phase, and it now supports over 259 operations worldwide. This has helped the company's customers improve both their daily efficiencies and allow them to concentrate on achieving their strategic goals.

The company's focus on boosting customers' performance and competitiveness in the market also impressed the judging panel, which was made up of major decision makers within the parcel and postal industry. Although the competition for the award was tough, the panel recognised Vanderlande's significant contribution, and its ongoing role in helping to improve the future of the postal industry.

"The judges were looking for a company that had shown a lasting commitment to the industry, as well as an ongoing programme of innovation," says panel member Elmar Toime, Chairman of Postea Inc. "With its parcel sorting technology, warehouse automation systems and customer support, Vanderlande was seen as a deserving winner."

Vanderlande Executive Vice President WPP (Warehouse Automation & Parcel and Postal) Terry Verkuijlen said: "We are delighted to have been given the title of Supplier of the Year. There have been some exciting changes within this sector at Vanderlande over the last 12 months, and this award shows that we are recognised as a supplier who delivers an excellent service to its customers."
