Cardiff-based Pelican Healthcare has implemented an integrated web-based solution from NetDespatch that seamlessly connects the company's Sage order management system with their local APC Overnight Depot - Western Couriers.

Pelican Healthcare delivers a large quantity of daily shipments of medical devices to the NHS, doctors' surgeries and chemists, as well as other medical suppliers that offer a one-stop-shop. The consignments are delivered throughout the UK via Western Couriers, part of APC Overnight; the UK's largest next-day delivery network.

Pelican Healthcare implemented NetDespatch after switching carriers to APC Overnight. "The switchover was seamless, and the whole process was quick and straightforward," said Adrian Hockey, General Manager, Western Couriers. "The NetDespatch solution is efficient with built-in flexibility, which is the primary reason we prefer our customers to use it."

NetDespatch speeds up fulfilment and despatch, processing orders from Sage automatically through the NetDespatch Connector application, producing labels and notifying the Depot in real time. Once the parcel has been collected, Pelican can access both event and scan tracking events on-line.

"The NetDespatch Retail Solutions team went out of their way to provide the best possible integrated solution for Pelican Healthcare. It is a pleasure doing business with such a resourceful and professional team," concluded Hockey.

NetDespatch is retained by postal and parcel carriers to provide cost-free innovative shipping solutions for their customers, through an easy to use secure web-based platform that automates the connection between order processing, despatch and delivery, even if the orders are received in one location and despatched from another. There are no costs involved for installation, training or support, and the system is available instantly online.
