Ortec joins TomTom Telematics Partner Programme to enhance its routing and scheduling solution globally

Ortec, provider of advanced fleet planning and optimisation solutions, has joined the .connect Partner Programme of TomTom Telematics to enhance customer service globally.

The programme gives technology suppliers development and commercial support to integrate with TomTom Telematics' WEBFLEET platform, enabling their products to use the platform's powerful fleet management data.

Across Europe it remains an industry wide challenge to improve the consumer experience and have tradesmen and delivery firms arriving on time for appointments. The integration of Ortec routing and Webfleet offers companies a dynamic routing and scheduling solution based on a vehicle's location and its estimated time of arrival (ETA), keeping end-customers updated on appointments and delivery times.

"Fleet management can dramatically impact the overall customer experience, and we are always looking to collaborate extensively with partners to help improve end-to-end processes and daily operations," said Thomas Schmidt, Managing Director, TomTom Telematics.

Daniël Dam, Product Manager Ortec Routing at ORTEC, added: "Ortec focuses on optimizing orders for drivers and field service personnel. This move also allows ORTEC to broaden its customer base to include not only Heavy Goods Vehicle operators but also service companies running Light Commercial Vehicle fleets."

The opportunities for creating new hardware and software integrations, and capabilities of the Webfleet platform's APIs, were showcased to more than 140 developers in Amsterdam last month at TomTom Telematics' first International Developer Conference.
