Dematic, a supplier of logistics systems for the factory, warehouse and distribution centre, has opened a new engineering centre in Seattle, Washington US, and has added more engineering staff to the Western Region of North America.

In doing so, Dematic has expanded its ability to support companies in California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Arizona, Idaho and Montana. Furthermore, project management, customer service and business development staff have been increased. More regionally based engineering resources will optimise the solution development process, as well as system implementation and life cycle support for existing and prospective Dematic customers.

Dematic has also announced that Lance Troutman has joined the Dematic team and will support the Western Region. He will serve as a Senior Account Manager and will be responsible for developing logistics solutions for manufacturing, warehousing and distribution operations. Troutman has extensive experience and expertise as a solution advisor and developer. During his career, he has helped many companies to create logistics results by designing and implementing solutions from receiving to shipping in production, warehousing and distribution environments. Prior to joining Dematic, Troutman worked for a robotic order fulfilment solution provider and a global supplier of warehouse logistics automation.

According to Pat Fitzpatrick, General Manager with Western Operations, "Lance has strong skills to offer our customers in the area of logistics automation. By recommending process improvements that are supported with material handling automation and software, he can configure the most appropriate warehouse logistics solution with a compelling business case."
