Handheld strengthens its management team by appointing Carsten Billeschou as new Managing Director of Handheld Europe AB

Handheld Europe AB, supplier of rugged PDAs, smartphones and mobile computers on the European, Middle East and African (EMEA) markets, has appointed Carsten Billeschou as new Managing Director. Carsten Billeschou brings management experience from several European manufacturing companies and will be part of Handheld Group's management team.

Handheld Europe is a subsidiary of the Handheld Group, a manufacturer and worldwide supplier of rugged PDAs and mobile computers. As new Managing Director of Handheld Europe, Carsten Billeschou will be responsible for Handheld's operations on the EMEA market, an important market where Handheld has a strong footprint and a large market share.

Carsten Billeschou brings experience from an international industrial management career to Handheld and his position as Managing Director of Handheld Europe. Prior to joining Handheld, Carsten held Managing Director positions in the Promens, Binar and KMT groups as well as holding positions for United Nations (UNDP), SAAB Automobile, Business Sweden and his own management consulting firm.

Carsten was born in Copenhagen in 1967, grew up in Denmark, Sweden, Tanzania and Jamaica and is a Danish citizen resident in Lidköping, Sweden since 1995. He holds a Mechanical Engineering degree (BSc) from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) as well as a Business Management diploma from Gothenburg Management Institute (GMI).

Carsten Billeschou has already started working in the Handheld organization and takes up his position as Managing Director on January 1, 2014. He will be based at Handheld's headquarters in Lidköping, Sweden.

Handheld's lineup of rugged PDAs and mobile computers is specifically developed for use in tough environments in industries such as geomatics, logistics, forestry, public transportation, construction, mining, field service, utilities, maintenance, public safety, military and security.
