Swisslog has signed an agreement with SCA to design and realise an automated finished goods warehouse at an existing production facility in Hoogezand, The Netherlands. Swisslog will act as general contractor for this order.
SCA is a global hygiene and forest products company that develops and produces personal care, tissue and forest products. At its production facility in Hoogezand, The Netherlands, SCA produces famous brands of personal hygiene incontinence care and baby diapers such as the well-known brands TENA and Libero.
Highlights: monorail solution and depalletising robot
Swisslog will act as general contractor for the design and realisation of a new automated warehouse for storage and distribution opposite the existing production facility. The project consists of the civil construction of the buildings and a series of materials handling equipment, including a 30 meter highbay racking with 27 900 pallet positions, 9 Vectura stacker cranes, a high throughput monorail conveyor, a depalletising robot and the fully integrated Warehouse Manager software and control systems. Erection of the plant is due to start in November 2013 and start of operation is foreseen for March 2015. The order is subject to the issuance of the construction permit.
