Infor has announced that Rostra, a Czech automotive supplier, uses Infor SyteLine as an IT platform for formerly non-integrated production and procurement processes. Thanks to this, the company has accelerated its response to customer requirements in the very competitive automotive segment.
SyteLine, implemented by ITeuro, an Infor partner in the Czech Republic, supports Rostra's manufacturing, sales, procurement, advanced planning and scheduling (APS), warehouse management and accounting processes. Rostra previously used five disparate information systems with non-integrated databases causing errors through duplicated data and complicated presentation of results.
The main challenge for Rostra was to link two different systems for manufacturing and procurement. The lack of integration made it extremely difficult to search for data and impossible to calculate costs for each manufactured item or the overall capacity costs. Additionally, the customer selected SyteLine for its support of both production methods – project and serial – and for the APS capability.
SyteLine enables Rostra to improve manufacturing capacity planning processes. An integrated alert system notifies staff if material needs to be replenished or production is ready to start. Information is now shared across the company, eliminating a number of error-prone processes. Besides greater consistency in regards to product quality, Rostra can be more competitive in terms of speed and price, mainly due to improved support of bid management processes.

"We produce both manufacturing tools for metal fabrication and injection molding as well as lathed and pressed parts being used for assembly of car seats, front panel racks, bumpers and other parts of automotive constructions. That is why we decided on Infor SyteLine, which is able to support mixed manufacturing environments and comply with complex standards of automotive customers."
