Zebra Technologies Europe Limited has announced the availability of 802.11n wireless LAN capability on both the QLn220 and QLn320 mobile label printers.
The Wireless LAN Infrastructure is now fundamental in supporting productivity and service opportunities in various sectors. Within the transportation & logistics industry, it allows for greater mobility and access to real-time data e.g. automated data collection and mobile computing that help users to locate assets, improve efficiency, and cut loss and waste.
The dual offering of new wireless radio technology, 802.11n and bluetooth provides a greater freedom of application on wireless networks as well as a step forward in addressing the industry's needs to improve overall productivity. It allows greater throughput especially in an industry where there is a need to transmit larger blocks of data.
Unlike other solutions in the market that only support 20MHz channel widths, the 802.11n radio supports channel bandwidths of both 20MHz and 40MHz. This offers end users a choice of networks, allowing them to select the least congested enabling the immediate printing of labels such as shipping, receiving and warehouse management.
