BMB Clothing, the UK menswear company, has selected Vodat International, the communications solution provider to the retail industry, to upgrade its network at its head office locations in Leeds, Goole and Hartlepool.

The retailer, which has 170 concessions and 28 of its own stores, is upgrading to the  Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) network which will also help how stock is allocated from the head office environment to retail stores, which include; Racing Green, Suit Direct and Jeff Banks. The retailer's existing circuit was struggling to cope with increased demand and it had no visibility or control over network traffic.

Mark Keeble, IT Support Manager at BMB, said, "Our existing network was struggling to cope with the increased demands of our growing business, in particular with the radio frequency stock scanning system in our warehouses.  The Vodat network will not only give us increased bandwidth with the flexibility of adding more when required, but will also give us greater visibility and control of the network traffic."

Keeble continued, "The active network monitoring that Vodat provides will alert us instantly to problems, allowing us to take appropriate remedial action, and the resilience built in to the network will keep our critical business areas online and ahead of the game."

Paul Leybourne, Head of Sales at Vodat International, said, "BMB needed to upgrade their network and was looking for a partner who could offer a managed service. This three-year deal will help BMB control costs and provide an even better service to its customers as it continues to grow."
