Infor, provider of business application software serving more than 70,000 customers, has announced that Infor10 ERP Express (VISUAL) has been successfully deployed in IDT's Galway-based manufacturing facility. IDT is a precision sheet-metal and sub-contract manufacturing company, providing precision sheet-metal parts and assemblies to the electronics, telecommunications equipment, healthcare and general engineering industries. The Infor ERP application enables IDT to provide an enhanced service to its customers, including meeting delivery commitments and keeping track of orders.

IDT has utilised ERP Express to manage its business effectively by providing accurate up-to-the-minute information about all aspects of its financial and production operations. IDT now has more accurate and faster responses to requests for quotations from customers because current pricing information is always available. The company also has better control of purchasing of raw materials and parts. Also, its cash is freed up through more timely purchasing from suppliers and better planning, reducing investment in stocks and work-in-progress. Additionally, IDT's credit control activities have been enhanced and made more efficient, and the visibility into full information on customers, suppliers and general ledger accounts is excellent.
"We selected Infor ERP software against several competing systems because Infor and their partner Gameplan were prepared to listen to us and to adapt their offering to more closely meet our requirements, as opposed to trying to impose a pre-determined view of what our requirements should be," said Dr John J Ryan, managing director, IDT.
"The ability of Infor10 ERP Express (VISUAL) to cater for the definitive needs of the make-to-order market place and Gameplan's successful track record in implementing the application were crucial in Infor and Gameplan winning the IDT contract," said Heinrich van der Westhuizen, managing director, Gameplan.
