Global Freight Forwarding company, Cardinal Maritime, have selected LocateIT WMS and its associated ScanIT wireless processes, from Clydebuilt Business Solutions Ltd, to allow the company to further enhance its 'value added' warehousing in line with its specialist 3PL status.

Cardinal Maritime has been offering global freight services since its inception in 1998 reporting an outstanding growth of 25% year on year.  Within the existing system, a number of processes and services were identified as potential areas of concern for the company as it continues to expand.  To facilitate this continuing growth path without compromise on the great service that is building its reputation, Cardinal took the decision to update the warehousing system and recognised Clydebuilt and LocateIT WMS as ideal partners primarily as the system offers the flexibility to cater for each of Cardinal's client base in a personalised and bespoke way.

Increasingly communications is the secret weapon in successful business partnerships, and Cardinal is taking advantage of some Communication Modules associated with LocateIT to interface with its clients back office and e-commerce systems.  Linked with the RF Wireless processes, and the Web portal, these communications deliver end to end supply chain visibility.  The system removes the need for manual data entry providing real time visibility to all stake holders throughout the supply chain.  To add comfort, key staff had existing experience of the solution, coming from companies with the software in place so there is confidence it will deliver as intended.

Cardinal and its customers will benefit from the easy access to management information associated with the inventory and intended work that is stored within the database.   Across the client base Cardinal have to manage successfully rotation based around such as BBE Date, Lot, Batch Number, Weight, Serial Number – these are just a number of the basic information types that can be stored  and used to manage client inventories.

Although the project is at an early stage the staff at both companies are looking forward to working together to deliver a successful result and to help maintain the growth rate currently enjoyed.
