PSI has been contracted by ArcelorMittal Poland with the delivery of PSImetals as the Supply Chain and Advanced Planning System as well as Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for flat carbon steel production sites in Cracow, Sosnowiec Swietochlowice and continuous casting area in Dabrowa Grnicza. On the basis of the PSImetals components Planning, Production and Quality, PSI is delivering a complete production management system to ArcelorMittal Poland. Among the special aims of the project are the cross-site optimisation of the planning and production processes, the systematic improvement of the product quality, the increase of the downstream throughput in the bottleneck equipments, the increase of the adherence to the delivery schedule as well as improvements in the general performance on the basis of key performance indicators (KPIs) and greater process automation.

PSImetals Planning will optimise all the material flows and align production capacity and customer demand across all the flat sector sites. Functions for flow and capacity planning, campaign planning as well as for the line scheduling in the areas of continuous casting, hot-rolling and cold rolling, galvanisation and coating will determine the best product mix while calculating an efficient plant utilisation. The PSImetals components Production and Quality will handle the material and order tracking and the quality management for the entire production chain. This will result in a comprehensive production transparency and traceability. The system will supply current information for the support of the customer service.

In the course of the project, the PSImetals planning and MES system will be integrated into the existing system environment and infrastructure, whereby the Polish PSI subsidiary will also be involved. Along with the supply of the production management system for the four flat carbon steel sites, the order includes a service and maintenance agreement and additional options for the integration of logistics components for the semi-finished and finished product warehouse as well as for the implementation of the corresponding planning and MES for the long-product sites in Dabrowa Gornicza and Sosnowiec.
