Marussia Virgin Racing, the first Anglo-Russian F1 racing team, has deployed the leading global mid market ERP solution, Sage ERP X3, to streamline its core business processes and more effectively integrate the financial and commercial operations across its business. The fully integrated business management solution which goes live this month handles everything from inventory, stock management, finance, project and job costing to provide a consolidated view of the company's total operations and deliver new levels of business insight. Sage ERP X3 was selected in August 2011 following a two-way tender process and the first phase of implementation has been completed within a 3 month period.

Designed specifically for upper mid market businesses with complex business requirements or global ambitions, Sage ERP X3 is proven in 38 countries as a robust, easy to integrate and highly scalable solution that is web-native and unrivalled in its ease of customisation, low total cost of implementation and ownership. Thanks to its intuitive design, the robustness of its technology and that fact that the company's finance department already used and benefitted from Sage software, the Sage ERP X3 platform was a natural fit for Marussia Virgin Racing's requirements.

Kevin Lee, Operations Director at Marussia Virgin Racing explained: "Before investing in Sage ERP X3, Marussia Virgin Racing, like many businesses, was operating a number of disparate IT systems and needed a centralised ERP solution that could look after the entire lifecycle of the products and thousands of parts that we deal with. Offering a complete end-to-end business management system that can scale seamlessly to break down departmental and geographical silos, Sage ERP X3 will enable us to automate complex business processes and dramatically increase operational efficiencies."

Following go-live this month, the Sage solution will become the engine-room for Marussia Virgin Racing's operations, from inception of part-master records all the way through to payment. Providing a central hub for business-critical information and offering rich and fully integrated functionality across multiple business functions and departments, the Sage platform provides a joined-up view of the enterprise and will serve to reduce the company's costs and turnaround time and accelerate growth.

Lee continued: "In the fast-paced world of Formula 1 agility is mission critical, so speed of implementation was a fundamental success criterion for us. Thanks to the expertise and dedication of Sage's team and the robustness of the technology, we are set to be up and running with the new solution in just three months."

"Tools that increase productivity, transform levels of business insight and support growth are the key components to building a successful business in the current economic climate," commented Bob Anderson, General Manager for Sage's Enterprise Business. "There are few clearer demonstrations of the link between speed and success than in Formula 1, so the speed of integration and broad interoperability of our Sage ERP X3 solution was a real coup for Marussia Virgin Racing who will benefit from maximum scalability and performance over time."

Sage ERP X3 is fully customisable and easy to configure, with a range of multi-platform desktop client and web-based deployment combinations. It already supports the relevant languages, currencies and legislation of 38 countries to ensure 1st class global functionality in finance, sales, CRM, inventory management, purchasing and manufacturing. Thanks to its intuitive user-friendly interface, embedded Business Intelligence and integrated CRM functionality, Sage ERP X3 provides a rich user experience that improves collaboration and increases business insight, whilst reducing the costs and complexities of integrating operations across multiple territories.
