Liz Earle, the UK-based manufacturer of high-end beauty products, is deploying a Sales and Operations Planning process targeted at improving their collaborative forecasting process and accuracy, as well as better integrating demand and supply teams. To support this process Liz Earle have selected CDMi, the S& OP solution from TXT e-solutions, part of the TXTPERFORM2008 SCM suite.

Liz Earle sells its products through multiple channels such as on-line, in store and QVC, the television shopping channel, which enables it to reach circa 21 million homes. Remaining competitive in a multi-channel environment required that Liz Earle not only possess an unrivalled product portfolio and first class customer service, but also the business process and IT infrastructure to support its growth over the last 2 years and into the future.

As such, S&OP was identified as a key process that would bring teams closer together behind consumer demand and improve service and product availability, and therefore ultimately consumer loyalty. It was decided that the current systems could not support this strategy, nor deliver the right product at the right time to the right place. Expected benefits from the deployment of the S&OP process and TXT's CDMi include reduced stock in the supply chain, improved product availability, better buying decisions leading to faster stock turns, and more effective and profitable range management.

The TXT S&OP solution, part of the TXTPERFORM2008 SCM suite will be used for the collaborative demand planning of its entire product portfolio, circa 500 SKUs across all channels.

"During the selection process TXT demonstrated a perfect match in their approach to our needs, they clearly understood our specific challenges and we liked their 'can do' attitude. In addition their list of references was impressive, as were the rankings they have achieved with analysts in S&OP. I am confident we have made the right choice, and TXT are as keen as we are to demonstrate some good ROI for this initiative. We expect that the familiar Microsoft Excel 2007 will please our users and speed up adoption," commented Fiona Greenfield, Supply Chain Director at Liz Earle.

"We are delighted to be able to count Liz Earle as a customer, and we very much value that partnership. The cosmetic industry is a fast moving industry and TXT has plenty of experience with such products and companies; working with Liz Earle once again proves that we have the right solutions to deliver the type of business benefits companies need today and also to support their future growth," says Keith Noble, GM TXT e-solutions UK.
