Honeywell has announced the introduction of the Voyager 1250g single-line laser scanner, the latest addition to the Voyager family of scanners, providing users with an exceptional out-of-box experience and aggressive scan performance, including extended depth of field. The ergonomic Voyager 1250g is said to be ideal for hand-held, scan-intensive environments, such as retail, government, manufacturing and commercial services.

"The Voyager 1250g reinforces Honeywell's industry-leading scanning portfolio," said Taylor Smith, director of product management, Honeywell Scanning & Mobility. "Building on the success of the 1200g, which shipped more than 10,000 units in its first month of availability, the 1250g further demonstrates our commitment to meeting the unique needs of our customers and providing them with a robust line of data capture tools."

The Voyager 1250g offers multiple features that combine to deliver ease of use, right out of the box. A multi-interface design that incorporates automatic interface detection provides a true 'plug and play' experience. For users that require hands-free scanning, the easy-to-assemble Voyager 1250g stand features automatic in-stand detection, leading to increased throughput.

Designed for use in scan-intensive environments, the extended depth of field offered by the Voyager 1250g is ideal for scanning items that are just out of reach, such as products on the bottom of a shopping cart or on top of an overhead storage rack.

"The Voyager 1250g provides users with a truly unmatched scanning experience," said Kyle Gambrell, scanner product manager, System ID, a full service provider of barcode and RFID-enabled solutions. "It is one of the fastest scanners on the market today; is easy to use, comfortable to hold and requires minimal set up. We expect the Voyager 1250g to generate strong demand from our customers."

The device is also compatible with Honeywell's Remote MasterMind for Scanning software, allowing customers to manage, update and configure all scanners deployed within a network from a single centralised location.
