JDA Software Group, Inc., the supply chain company, has announced that Aelia, the core duty free and luxury competence and branding centre of LS Travel Retail EMEA, a division of the Lagardre Services group, selected the JDA Space Planning solution, part of the JDA Space & Category Management suite, in the first quarter of 2010 to support store openings and improve sales and customer satisfaction. Aelia intends to use the solution at its 168 sales outlets in major travel networks, including 28 airports in France, Great Britain, Czech Republic and Poland.

JDA Space Planning is designed to help companies like Aelia quickly and profitably construct, manage, analyse, optimise and distribute detailed in-store planograms, eliminating its current manual process of creating planograms using spreadsheets based on the market share of each brand. Aelia selected JDA Space Planning to speed and standardise both reference and brand planogram building to support its increasing number of new store openings and accommodate more than 14,000 perfume and cosmetic inventory items.

"JDA Space Planning fits our needs perfectly," said Sarah Boukhelif, Charge de Merchandising, Parfumes et Cosmtiques, Aelia. "The JDA Space Planning solution not only allows us to build planograms by brand, but also develop reference planograms that facilitate the layout and communication with the in-store staff when opening a new point of sale."

"More and more companies like Aelia are realizing that JDA's industry-leading category management solutions can help them effectively plan, execute and analyze their demand- and brand-based category and assortment strategies," said Razat Gaurav, senior vice president, Europe, Middle East and Africa, JDA Software. "We believe that leveraging the JDA Space & Category Management capabilities to standardise brand and reference planogram development will give Aelia a competitive advantage when developing operating and supply structures suited to unique locations and adapted to landlord requirements."
