Oracle introduces Oracle Retail Merchandising Analytics


Oracle has unveiled Oracle Retail Merchandising Analytics tooffer retailers a new prebuilt business intelligence application thatincorporates performance metrics across the entire enterprise andpromotes a faster response to market opportunities.


 
OracleRetail Merchandising Analytics uses Oracle Business IntelligenceApplications to access and analyze data from multiple applications suchas financial and workforce management, customer relationship management(CRM) and retail operations. The merchandising-specific businessintelligence application provides insight to critical performanceindicators such as item sales, store performance, efficacy ofpromotions and markdowns, inventory turn, sales and profit trends andcurrent and potential out-of-stocks.
 
Included across all of thebusiness intelligence dashboards is the ability to act on thoseinsights, enabling users to order more stock, re-allocate merchandiseor kick off a promotion triggered by metric thresholds. This type of"closed-loop or guided analytics" uses embedded actions to make iteasier for users to act on the information they view in a dashboard orreport.
 
Oracle plans to expand the Oracle Retail Analyticsfamily of next-generation business intelligence applications,addressing areas to meet emerging customer needs. Oracle RetailAnalytics applications are optimized to run on Oracle Exadata DatabaseMachine and Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud and deliver the extremeperformance required to accommodate retailer data volumes withoutsacrificing depth of analysis.  
 
Oracle Retail Analyticsapplications integrate with Oracle and non-Oracle applications and canbe implemented alone or collectively to accommodate each retailer'sunique information needs and application environment. The prebuiltnature of the solution enables customers to achieve fast time to valueby reducing deployment time and help lower overall total cost ofownership.
 
Reports are delivered to mobile devices and desktopsin a variety of formats, a capability further enabled by theapplication's use of Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise EditionOracle Retail Merchandising Analytics is currently available andincludes packaged integration with the Oracle Retail Merchandisingproduct family and relevant analytics.
