Vista Retail Support chooses LocateIT WMS from Clydebuilt

Vista Retail Support (VRS) is a UK-based IT service and support organisation to the retail sector and specialises in the repair and refurbishment of the Retailer's IT, shop support and EPOS systems. VRS offers a wide range of services including cabling, installation and hardware maintenance, operating from their main site in Cardiff, home to the repair operation, with around 100 mobile engineers working with clients.   

Increasing levels of business has meant investment in support IT infrastructure was necessary to help staff continue the good work.  In particular, VRS was looking for a solution to further secure visibility and parts accuracy from the warehousing in Cardiff, parts being repaired and refurbished, engineers van stocks and the 3PL network of spares the company has throughout the country.  With so many engineers holding stock a robust system that could tightly integrate with all arms of the business including their Navision ERP was required.

LocateIT WMS was chosen as it offers users complete visibility of all parts inventories regardless of location. It also provides Vista with the additional option of viewing real time information over the internet if required. The total track and trace feature is said to be an invaluable asset when consuming components whilst working with repairs.

LocateIT will seamlessly interface with VRS back-office systems. This will be completed to affect a seamless whole, with all systems 'speaking' to each other and automatically transferring information as required.  LocateIT will be used to monitor the physical details (including detail location) from goods-in through to use on a repair or despatch to a engineer for a customer's support call.

The core element of Vista's business lies in the servicing of its clients equipment, and a key activity in the day-to-day warehouse operations lies in the pick and despatch of replacement parts to engineers, which is adequately covered by LocateIT.  Maintaining customer service level agreements is vital to the ongoing success of the business and the real-time visibility of the physical flows of parts and components is a vital element to ensure that staff can deliver to the customer.

The staff at Clydebuilt are already working with Vista Retail Support to realise the vision and the very real business benefits, included improved accuracy and knowledge of current stock holdings, and the time saving element. Clydebuilt comments that there is no doubt that the removal of paper handling alone in the warehouse and the instant visibility for planning will release significant manpower for more productive work in a growing environment.  It adds that, in the current climate, such efficiency and effectiveness improvements can only enhance the ongoing security of the business in the area.  The project is at the early stages, however Clydebuilt looks forward to working closely with Vista Retail Support as the relationship strengthens.
