Edward Dillon and Co Ltd., a distributor of premium spirits and wine brands based in Ireland, replaces multiple legacy systems with Infor SCM Demand Planning to help the company improve the quality of demand forecasting and reduce investment in stock. Previously, the multitude of legacy systems used by sales and operations teams meant the company had a wealth of data but lacked the tools to access this information efficiently. The new advanced supply chain solution will help the company improve stock turnover by up to 20 per cent while maintaining its current high service levels across its portfolio of products. Infor SCM Demand Planning will allow greater collaboration on promotion planning and market intelligence by facilitating access to forecasting, trends and performance data for brand and operations teams across Edward Dillon and Co.

"Infor SCM Demand Planning was the right choice for us as it has all the capabilities and functionalities we need; it was reasonably priced and we also received excellent references from other users of the system." said John Fitzgerald, director of operations at Edward Dillon and Co Ltd. "Until now, we had multiple legacy tools that did not provide us with a single view of our demand. Now we have a unified approach to forecasting across the company. This means we're expecting to improve the quality of demand forecasting and thereby reduce our investment in stock without compromising service levels. The new software also gives us visibility across the business. All departments have access to the forecast and brand teams can actively input marketing strategy, take ownership and add business intelligence to reflect promotional activity."

"Infor SCM Demand Planning helps companies to be forward-looking, to anticipate peaks and troughs in demand, allowing them to improve responsiveness to changing customer demands", says Pieter Leijten, Vice President, Supply Chain Management EMEA, Infor. "Companies often plan manually against historical sales and stock build for safety, our solution allows companies to decrease inventory, leading to better stock management and better on-time delivery performance and customer satisfaction. This also results in considerable cost savings for companies."
