JDA Software Group, Inc., The Supply Chain Company, has released JDA Logistics Procurement, an expanded transportation management offering that will be made generally available this month. Since its acquisition of i2 Technologies, Inc., on 28 January 2010, JDA has been focused on bringing together the two companies' manufacturing, supply chain, merchandising and transportation solutions.
The JDA Logistics Procurement release is part of JDA's post i2 acquisition product roadmap integration plan announced in April 2010. The product roadmap supports the convergence and ongoing innovation of two of the industry's solutions offerings to provide customers with the most comprehensive, integrated supply chain solutions. JDA Logistics Procurement is a proven example of this combination of convergence and innovation.
Strong Execution on Integration Objectives
JDA Logistics Procurement is part of JDA's world-class Transportation & Logistics Management solution suite featuring industry leading products developed by Manugistics and i2. These solutions offer a comprehensive planning and execution platform that helps shippers, carriers and third-party logistics providers more effectively manage the complexities of a multi-modal logistics network. i2 was positioned by Gartner, Inc., in the Leaders Quadrant of the 2010 "Magic Quadrant for Transportation Management Systems." In the same report, published on April 13, 2010, JDA was positioned in the Challengers Quadrant.
JDA Logistics Procurement is a superset of combined product functionality from the i2-developed JDA Transportation Bid Collaboration converged with the contract management capabilities of JDA Logistics Sourcing developed by Manugistics. Additionally, JDA Logistics Procurement features several net-new capabilities and flexible deployment options not found in the legacy solutions.

Flexible Deployment Options
While customers have traditionally sought to leverage the bid collaboration solution in a hosted environment, JDA designed flexible deployment into JDA Logistics Procurement based on increased customer interest in leveraging an expanded solution behind their own firewalls. With JDA Logistics Procurement, customers benefit from bid collaboration, contract management and additional optimisation capabilities and can choose to deploy the solution under either a software licensing or a software-as-a-service model for ease of integration.
Convergence on a Closed-Loop Approach
Going far beyond a simple product replacement strategy, JDA Logistics Procurement represents the goal of the convergence roadmap: creating a superior solution with the best combined product functionality. This integration approach enables existing JDA customers to share data between the legacy transportation bid collaboration and contract management solutions and achieve a more integrated, closed-loop set of processes for more effective results.
