Infor, provider of business applications to mid-sized companies, has announced that Nylacast, an engineering plastics solutions provider, has fully deployed Infor ERP SyteLine throughout its UK operations.  Delivering accurate management information and visibility of capacity, ERP SyteLine will enhance key business processes, while improving production planning.  Implemented on time and budget, ERP SyteLine will enable Nylacast to improve customer service and generate additional revenue.

Plastics manufacturing leader Nylacast has deployed Infor ERP SyteLine throughout its operations in the UK and will soon extend this to its operations in the US. ERP SyteLine was chosen on the basis of its out-of-the-box functionality, and Infor's deep domain expertise in manufacturing. The implementation of ERP SyteLine was the biggest change management project ever undertaken at Nylacast, and was completed on time and on budget following great teamwork with Infor's Professional Services Organisation. Nylacast anticipates that greater visibility of production schedules leading to improved management of demand and better customer service will be the primary business benefits of ERP SyteLine. Nylacast worked with independent technology consultancy CCL who helped define the IT requirements and then aided in the selection processes. Nylacast's polymer-based products are used in the construction, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, food processing, rail, water treatment and automotive industries. They are stable, corrosion resistant, tough, self lubricating and wear resistant.

"Wherever we operate, we pride ourselves on providing our customers with a complete engineering plastics solution," said Melvyn Fookes, financial director, Nylacast. "We continually strive for the most efficient manufacturing processes, and the functionality inherent in ERP SyteLine is well aligned to the challenges we face.  We are confident that SyteLine will deliver the information we need, how, where and when we need it."

"Recent research by IDC Manufacturing Insights shows customer fulfilment is now among the highest priorities for discrete manufacturers," said Andrew Kinder, director, product marketing, Infor. "Like many others in the study, Nylacast recognises that proactively improving customer service is key to growth and competitiveness in the global high-performance polymer market."
