Established in Paris in 1948 by Jean Cassegrain, Longchamp is still a family-run company. The product range has considerably broadened over the years; from luggage to women's bags down to accessories. Prestigious advertising campaigns, the creation of internationally renowned it-bags and a Prt--Porter collection have made Longchamp a leading brand in fashion. Worldwide represented through over 130 stores and 2000 point-of-sales in 101 countries, Longchamp has been able to blend affordable luxury and savoir-faire.
With the aim of staying both visionary on trends and in line with customer's preferences, Longchamp decided to introduce the demand forecasting solution TXTDEMAND part of TXTPERFORM2008 provided by TXT e-solutions.
With this implementation, Longchamp looks at improving forecast accuracy and optimising the whole process. The proven functionality of the tool will enable the company to collaboratively issue accurate forecasts for all channels for over 2000 SKUs. The exception-based management capabilities of the solution, coupled to workflow management, will enable planners to invest their time on the analysis of the data instead of spending it on the mere preparation of data.
Longchamp will benefit from increased visibility of demand, and therefore improve the agility of downstream processes in the supply chain, in order to compensate for long sourcing and production lead-times. Production planning will also be managed within the tool, and will be supported by dashboards and alerts to advise planners that all the revisions of the forecast have actually been taken into account by the production planning and scheduling departments.
The enhanced demand forecasting process will make it possible for Longchamp to manage information centrally. Therefore simplifying and optimising its access and management, so as to optimise material flows, and ultimately improve service levels and customer satisfaction.
"Our objective was to implement a dedicated solution that would help us set up a collaborative, accurate and flexible forecasting process. Our choice fell on TXT's solutions, who are a genuine point of reference in fashion and luxury" declares Maryvonne Rouleau, Forecasting Manager at Longchamp. "In addition, this project will enable us to have our forecasting and our IT team collaborate around a common goal. Indeed, such a project can be successful only when everyone is on board" adds Mrs Rouleau.
"We are honoured that Longchamp have selected us. Working closely with our many customers in the fashion business, we concentrate all of our efforts to offer solutions that would accompany them in keeping pace with the industry's evolving dynamics. This new project with such a renowned luxury brand is comforting us in the choices we made." concludes Simone Pozzi, EMEA Sales Director at TXT e-solutions.
