A readers poll conducted by IDC Manufacturing Insights found that the two highest business strategies over the next two years were to reduce costs and improve productivity. The global economic downturn has put greater emphasis, and it is still a priority as countries and industries emerge from recession. Individual organisations have had to focus on aspects such as the efficiency of their business processes to be able to reach the strategic goals of improved productivity and cost reduction.
