Epicor Software Corporation, provider of enterprise business software solutions for the midmarket and divisions of Global 1000 companies, has announced that Brice Baker Group Ltd, a global manufacturer and distributor of silos, ancillary products and services based in the UK, has selected the Epicor 9 next-generation enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution. Epicor will replace a number of isolated systems across the company's entire operation, consisting of facilities in Bulgaria, Australia, and three sites in the UK.

Brice Baker Group's decision to buy Epicor is part of a three-year strategic investment and business transformation plan to take the company's highly regarded heritage and compliment it with the cutting edge machinery and technology needed to support aggressive growth and expansion plans.

"Our current systems all work in isolation from each other with files transferred around the business via e-mail and other methods to get orders from sales to manufacturing and finance as needed," said Steve Morgan, sales director at Brice Baker Group. "Getting our business to number one in its sector is our goal, and we believe Epicor will help us achieve this and grow with us in the future as we reach out into new geographies."

Epicor will replace all existing isolated systems within Brice Baker Group, giving the company real-time integration and visibility of the business across sales, manufacturing, production, finance and project accounting, stock management and engineering. Brice Baker Group believes the new system will allow the company to make great strides in streamlining its operation and quickly reduce lead times and stock inventory; a key aim of the company.

"Communicating and sharing information is very difficult with our current systems and definitely slows the business down," added Morgan. "It is prone to human error and duplication, and some processes, such as same day dispatch of spare parts from our breakdown spares service, are difficult to achieve. Epicor will help us overcome these challenges, and allow us to be a much more efficient business."

Brice Baker Group reviewed a number of systems before short-listing six, and then a final two. Epicor was the only solution that delivered all of the features Brice Baker Group required within a single application, with a uniform and easy to use interface. The company plans to make extensive use of the Epicor Configurators to standardise its product offering, as well as the Business Process Management module. Morgan concluded, "Epicor's sales and CRM features were head and shoulders above the other solutions we reviewed. Epicor has very rich functionality, great consistency and flexibility it has a seamlessness that all the other packages lacked."
"Many of our competitors struggle to provide the level of functionality needed in modern ERP solutions, while ensuring they maintain a good user experience," added Matt Muldoon, vice president of product marketing at Epicor. "For us, this is a very important feature of our products and one that time and time again customers say separates us from the rest of the field, whether it is the IT manager that needs to maintain the system or daily business users."
