ORTEC supports energy company to 'deliver the promise to the customer'

It has only been a few weeks since GO-live but Engen Petroleum is already experiencing the benefits of working with ORTEC's automated planning solutions. Up until recently Engen had been using a VMI order planning and route scheduling system that has reached its end of life.



Upgrading to a new system was therefore crucial and after an extensive selection process ORTEC secured the contract due to its wealth of experience in VMI and the ability to offer a tried and tested solution. Engen has selected ORTEC's Vehicle Routing and Dispatch solution, ORTEC Shortrec and ORTEC's Demand Forecasting and Order Generation solution, ORTEC Orion.

As Mr Helder Alves, Engen's Outbound Scheduling Manager explains: "By implementing VMI we will benefit from increased planning capabilities. Furthermore, time savings will enable the planners to manage execution of the delivery schedules."

Describing the initial benefits for Engen, Industry Director Oil, Gas and Chemicals Janneke Meesters of ORTEC, states: "With ORTEC Orion, Engen's VMI customer orders are automatically generated and this has replaced some of their manual processes. Also, Engen is now able to specify the estimate time of arrival at the customer site more accurate. It is features such as this that enable them to 'deliver our promise to the customer' which is their operations slogan."
