Roberts Bakery delivers daily bread with Paragon technology

Roberts Bakery, North-West England's leading family owned bakery, has implemented an advanced delivery routing solution from Paragon Software Systems. The Paragon software automates and optimises route planning and scheduling, boosting delivery performance to major supermarkets and food service customers such as 3663, Food Partners and Greencore. After only two months of using the software, the company has seen a significant improvement in planning and delivery fleet efficiency. Before installing Paragon, Roberts Bakery planned 35 daily direct routes manually for delivering products to hundreds of customer sites throughout the UK. Now Paragon reduces planning time to a few hours and any adjustments are quick and easy, with the software re-optimising the plan automatically.   

Mark Owen, Director of Logistics, at the bakery reports that Paragon's strong track record in the food industry guided the firm's decision to buy the software. Roberts Bakery has plans to use the software across the rest of its business, enabling other customers to benefit from optimised routing and scheduling. The company also plans to link its Masternaut vehicle tracking system to the software, allowing it to compare real-time activity against its Paragon produced plans.
