RedPrairie Corporation, a productivity solutions provider, has helped BAP Ltd, a UK-based third party logistics company, to expand its operations following the implementation of RedPrairies Duty Management and Warehouse Management solutions. With offices and warehouses in Colchester, the port of Felixstowe and Thamesport, BAP provides on-port logistics and national distribution. Following the successful implementation of the RedPrairie solutions at Colchester and Felixstowe, BAP had the opportunity to expand by opening a new warehouse at Thamesport. RedPrairie enabled BAP to get the warehouse up and running, so it was ready to handle and store customer goods which were already on ship en-route to the UK.
Robin Smith, Senior Manager, BAP, said: The solution has been brilliant, and really does everything it says on the tin. Having the system has helped us expand the business, and acted as an enabler for growth. The solution gave us real flexibility to open up the operation, and it would be easy to do again if an opportunity arises elsewhere. BAP specialises in holding duty suspended beers, wines and spirits in its Customs and Excise approved bonded warehouses, and all stock is controlled through RedPrairies Duty Management and Warehouse Management solution.
The swift implementation impressed BAP. Smith continued: We decided to purchase the Duty Management and Warehouse Management solution from RedPrairie as we wanted to open new sites, and our previous solution didnt have multi-site capability. It has given us the ability to communicate between all our sites, and enables enables management and supervisors to see whats going on at each location remotely. This means someone at Colchester can track transactions at Felixstowe.
Martin Hiscox, Vice Chairman of the Board, Managing Director and President International, of RedPrairie, said: BAP is a great example of RedPrairies WMS supporting multiple warehouses with multiple clients, even those requiring only a small number of operatives. Its always gratifying to see the high level of flexibility and functionality our solution provides to businesses, acting as a real enabler to growth.
