Darmex, a chemical products manufacturer, has reportedly realised significant improvements in productivity, scheduling and quality control since its implementation of Infor ERP Visual.
In cooperation with the companys application of Theory of Constraints in their two locations in Argentina, Darmex has established a means to identify and avoid bottlenecks in production, helping them reduce manufacturing costs per unit and increase capacity without adding inventory. These productivity gains have contributed to an overall growth rate of approximately 25 per cent for the company. The solution was sold and serviced by Infor channel partner VK Sur.
The Theory of Constraints (TOC) is a philosophy of management and improvement that is geared to help organisations continually achieve their goal by overcoming any existing constraints. The TOC process helps Darmex identify constraints and restructure accordingly. Additionally, Darmex has been able to enhance the final quality of its chemical materials, which are then used to manufacture rubber materials for automotive tires. Product quality is a vital part of Darmexs operations, as they export 90 per cent of their products to over thirty countries. This means that Darmex must meet a wide variety of international quality standards, such as ISO 9001:2000.
