Employees from across the island of Ireland, from all walks of life and areas of the business have come together over the last 18 months to take part in a whole host of fundraising activities ranging from pub quizzes, mini marathons and football tournaments to sponsored head-shaving.
Commenting on DHLs contributions, Irish Autism Action patron and Boyzone member Keith Duffy said: Irish Autism Action carries out such an important role in raising awareness of the needs and rights of families affected by autism. Its fantastic to see the enthusiasm that DHLs employees have shown in sacrificing their time to provide support and make a real difference to peoples lives.
DHLs most recent fundraising efforts have seen the raffle of a Mercedes B Class car, which took place in Swords this month. With yet another 50,000 this event took DHLs total fundraising to 100,000, which featured Keith Duffy who drew the winning raffle ticket.

As a company we try to support charitable causes and its rewarding to see our staff really take the bull by the horns in adopting this approach.
Bernard McCarthy, Managing Director Ireland, DHL Express added The whole project has created a feel good factor throughout the entire business with everyone pulling together for such a good cause. Our employees are passionate about Irish Autism Action and each individual participating has really put their all into it. Even though some now have considerably less hair, there have been no complaints.
The commitment shown by DHL employees in Ireland mirrors the organisational commitment to corporate social responsibility shown by Deutsche Post DHL (DP DHL) employees worldwide. Irish Autism Action was founded in 2001. The organisation is an umbrella body currently representing parent groups, support groups and schools for those on the autistic spectrum across Ireland. Irish Autism Actions mission is to raise the quality of life of individuals and their families affected by autism through ensuring the provision of highest standards in education, care, support, employment and equality of living opportunities in partnership with families
