Employers and educators will look into how educational qualifications match the needs of the logistics and supply chain sector at a University of Bolton conference next month.

The second Logistics and Supply Chain Management Conference, on 26 March 2009, will focus on education and careers in the sector. Guest speakers from industry and education will be joining representatives from professional organisations, including the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and Skills for Logistics.

Julian Coleman, Senior Lecturer in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the University, said: 'The conference will give companies an opportunity to have some direct input into teaching on ogistics and supply chain management, from 14 to 19 year olds right through to time-served professionals and postgraduate students. The aim is to increase levels of collaboration between employers and educators so that training and education courses, which reflect the needs of the industry, are developed.'

The event is free. For more information, contact: Short Courses Office, University of Bolton. Tel: 01204 903904; email: sco@bolton.ac.uk
