The companys previous technology was based on an aging EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) system.  When AG Thames decided to replace its ERP solution it decided to invest in new EDI technology at the same time to ensure the business met its service level requirements.

AG Thames imports fresh fruit from around the globe for Sainsburys 365 days a year and its minimum service level expectations are 97 per cent so reliability and accuracy are all important.

Bal Bhamra, Head of IT, AG Thames Holdings, said, Our existing system was unreliable and was putting unnecessary pressure on the business. We needed an EDI solution that could support the company when placing electronic orders, while also supporting the invoicing processes of the business.

Kewill manages AG Thames EDI requirements with partners and will establish what is required for new relationships. MessageBroker works directly with the companys ERP technology, removing the need for client side EDI software. Also the business IT support services liaises direct with Kewill support on day-to-day issues, while AG Thames maintain the relationship with account management.

Bhamra adds, We chose Kewill because it fitted our needs at an affordable price and was scalable. Its a cost effective solution which can be configured and priced to suit suppliers of all sizes who wish to integrate into their applications. It also provided a fully managed EDI solution with 24/7 monitoring.
