Cybit launches Fleetstar Logistics

Cybit, the online Telematics Service Provider, has launched Fleetstar Logistics, a new fleet telematics suite aimed at the UK's transport and distribution sector.

Fleetstar Logistics is a highly configurable solution designed for the requirements of transport and logistics companies to help streamline day-to-day business processes whilst providing strategic management data and one-screen KPI reporting.

Developed in conjunction with Truck24, Cybit's wholly owned European subsidiary, the software interfaces with major back-office accounting, scheduling and fleet management systems to provide office-based staff with a wealth of real-time vehicle, driver and load manifest information. Alongside these benefits, the software includes order and workflow management alongside the traditional operational benefits of live positioning information.

Fleetstar Logistics is available with touch screen in-cab devices that provide navigation, workflow and delivery schedules. The truckpads also can be utilised as an alternative and safer method of communication than mobile phones.

John Wisdom, Cybit's Sales and Marketing Director commented: "We are providing a service that will enable customers to drive costs down and give them the tools to improve existing operations which is particularly pertinent in the current low-growth market economy."

"There are many areas that Fleetstar Logistics addresses to help fight costs, reduce emissions and comply with legislation," added John Wisdom. "CanBus integration provides precise visibility of engine and driver performance which enables driver education to optimise fuel usage; whilst Tachograph interfaces allow real-time driver information to be checked aiding compliance. The communication suite enables companies to make the transition from paper-based systems to electronic methods of workflow management that reduces errors from manual data entry and can speed up billing procedures."

Richard Horsman, Cybit's Chief Executive Officer added: "As the market has developed it has become clear that one telematics platform will not suit all operations. With this in mind, we have developed a highly configurable solution which provides organisations with precise levels of data they require. We do this without expensive bespoke software developments that the industry has developed a reputation for.

"Through Fleetstar logistics we are delivering affordable fleet telematics including the benefits of CanBus and Digital Tachograph interfaces for the mass market backed by an established UK PLC that organisations can work alongside with confidence."

"The launch of Fleetstar Logistics is the first major product launch of a system developed exclusively for the logistics market and demonstrates Cybit's leadership in the field of scalable telematics solutions."

How Fleetstar Logistics works
Fleetstar Logistics is Cybit's scalable Internet-based telematics solution designed solely for the transport and logistics sector. Fleet vehicles are fitted with a small electronic in-vehicle-unit that is tracked by GPS in real-time and can be connected with a vehicle CanBus, Tachograph and a number of power-take offs. Data is then transmitted via O2's network to Cybit's online control centre. Fleetstar provides companies with a cost-effective fleet management solution, which offers users anytime, anywhere access to the system via a standard web browser.

Breadth of Telematics Information
From one solution, Cybit provides a breadth of vehicle telematics data including CanBus connectivity, driver orientated information and Digital Tachograph interfaces.

Dedicated Platform
Fleetstar Logistics is a highly configurable solution which when combined with Cybit's phased upgrade path, provides organisations with the precise levels of data that is required.

End User Benefits
Fleetstar Logistics addresses the sector's drive to fight costs and reduce emissions. The number one way to reduce fuel expenditure is to cut the number of miles travelled this is done by giving companies the tools to remove unnecessary or overlapping journeys.

Routing and scheduling applications enable companies to better deploy, monitor and adjust driver routes to minimise duplication, gain real-time overview of fleet performance, journey allocation. Other ways of reducing cost includes reporting on data lifted from the vehicle CanBus, providing precise visibility of engine and driver performance which enables driver education to optimise fuel usage and eliminate idling.
